I’ve never really had an ambition to visit all countries on Earth, but I do appreciate to discover new places. We rarely go back to a travel destination that we have already visited, unless it is for a specific reason or it is one of the major tourist cities like Barcelona, London, Miami, New York or Paris, where I have been multiple times. But we have visited the same country many times. We love Italy for example and we have been to the U.S. many times in the last few years.
Last year I got a present from my kids, a map where you can scratch each country you visit so that it shows all the countries you have been to. It is a fun map and seeing it inspires me to discover more. In the last 12 months I have been travelling a lot, and I have been able to add two new countries to my list: Sri Lanka and Canada. The total number of countries I have visited is now 25, which is not a very large number, but still somewhat of a milestone.
Here is an interactive map of all the countries I have visited. As you see, I still have not been to South America, Africa or Australia for example. Some day, I will definitely go to these parts of the planet.
