This was the fourth time we went to Thailand and although there had always been some kind of hiccup, this trip had the worst start of them all. Apparently our flight was delayed by ten hours and we didn’t get any notification about it, so we went out to the airport too early. There wasn’t really any other alternative than to stay and wait, but since we had three kids we were able to get a hotel room at the airport where we could rest for a few hours.
When we landed in Krabi Airport our chauffeur was nowhere to be found even though I hade emailed the hotel to notify them or our late arrival. He showed up two hours later and now it was so late that we almost missed the last ferry to Koh Lanta, but we made it eventually.
I won’t bore you with the details about how the restaurant forgot two out of five meals, we simply decided that the first day was miserable but from tomorrow morning all would be excellent.
Good Days Lanta
We stayed a week at Good Days Lanta hotel, on Long Beach, Koh Lanta, in one of the bungalows closest to the beach. As you can see in the image below, there is a small canal with water from the sea right next to the hotel area. It didn’t bother us much, altough I would have preferred if it hadn’t been there. Our bungalow was a bit worn down and after a few days the roof started leaking during a heavy rain. So we got to move to one of the slightly smaller but newer houses a bit further up from the beach. All in all, the hotel was fine, nothing fancy but it had all that we needed and the beach is in a very calm end of Long Beach.
