Winter in New York

New York can be incredibly cold in the winter, as we found out during our visit to the Big Apple. The day we took the boat to Liberty Island for a visit to the Statue of Liberty the temperature was -15 degrees Celsius. Add a light wind and it becomes quite cold to take photos wihout gloves on deck.

One upside of the cold weather was that skies were blue and we got to see the Hudson River almost frozen. This image of the Manhattan skyline shows the beautiful scenery with large chunks of ice floating on the river. I’m glad we got to experience this day, even if was freezing.
